MATKA BOŻA KRÓLOWA NARODU POLSKIEGO Tytuł Matki Bożej jako Królowej Narodu Polskiego sięga drugiej połowy XVI wieku. Grzegorz z Sambora, renesansowy poeta, nazywa Maryję Królową Polski i Polaków. Teologiczne uzasadnienie tytułu "Królowej" pojawi się w XVII wieku po zwycięstwie odniesionym nad Szwedami i cudownej obronie Jasnej Góry. Wyrazicielem tego przekonania Polaków stał się król Jan Kazimierz, który 1 kwietnia 1656 roku w katedrze lwowskiej przed cudownym obrazem Matki Bożej Łaskawej obrał Maryję za Królową swoich państw, a Królestwo Polskie polecił jej szczególnej obronie. W czasie podniesienia król zszedł z tronu, złożył berło i koronę, i padł na kolana przed wielkim ołtarzem. Zaczynając swoją modlitwę od słów: "Wielka Boga-Człowieka Matko, Najświętsza Dziewico", ogłosił Matkę Bożą szczególną Patronką Królestwa Polskiego. Przyrzekł szerzyć Jej cześć, ślubował wystarać się u Stolicy Apostolskiej o pozwolenie na obchodzenie Jej święta jako Królowej Korony Polskiej, zająć się losem ciemiężonych pańszczyzną chłopów i zaprowadzić w kraju sprawiedliwość społeczną. Po Mszy świętej, w czasie której król przyjął również Komunię świętą z rąk nuncjusza papieskiego, przy wystawionym Najświętszym Sakramencie odśpiewano Litanię do Najświętszej Maryi Panny, a przedstawiciel papieża odśpiewał trzykroć, entuzjastycznie powtórzone przez wszystkich obecnych nowe wezwanie: "Królowo Korony Polskiej, módl się za nami".

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTION Today, at 3:00 PM we will have The Divine Mercy Devotion. There will be an opportunity to receive the sacrament of penance before the devotion at 2:30 PM. The church will be open starting from 2:00 PM. All those who participate today in the Holy Mass and The Divine Mercy Devotion, in the state of grace, have the great privilege of receiving plenary indulgence.

Parish Announcements: FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH May 3 is the first Friday of the Month. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. During the adoration we will pray the Rosary. The Holy Mass is schedule at 7:30 PM. Following the Mass there will be meetings of the Rosary Altar and Holy Name Societies. FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH - MAY 4 On Saturday the Fatima Devotion will take place in the church at 6:45 AM followed by the Holy Mass at 7:30 AM. HOLY ROSARY AND CHANGE OF THE MYSTERIES Next Sunday after the 9:00 AM Mass there will be a recitation of the Holy Rosary and the change of the mysteries. Wielu parafian w tym czasie przysyła koperty z ofiarami, albo przynosi swoje dary po powrocie do domu. Niech Pan wynagrodzi wszystkim, którzy wspierają swoją parafię, także tym, którzy wysyłają koperty lub przynoszą je tydzień później, gdy w daną niedzielę nie mogli być z nami na Mszy świętej. Bóg zapłać. Niech Pan wynagrodzi każdą ofiarę płynącą z serca Bóg zapłać także tym Parafianom, którzy tak hojnie wspierają Kampanię Finansową oraz Doroczny Apel. Bóg zapłać!

The parish extends a heartfelt thank you to those amazing, hardworking folks who, literally, worked around the clock to make our Church beautiful for the Easter season. BLESSED VIRGIN MARY –WITNESS OF THE RESSURECITON After Jesus had been laid in the tomb, Mary “alone remains to keep alive the flame of faith, preparing to receive the joyful and astonishing announcement of the Resurrection”. The expectation felt on Holy Saturday is one of the loftiest moments of faith for the Mother of the Lord: in the darkness that envelops the world, she entrusts herself fully to the God of life, and thinking back to the words of her Son, she hopes in the fulfillment of the divine promises. If the authors of the New Testament do not speak of the Mother’s encounter with her risen Son, this can perhaps be attributed to the fact that such a witness would have been considered too biased by those who denied the Lord’s Resurrection, and therefore not worthy of belief. How could the Blessed Virgin, present in the first community of disciples (cf. Acts 1:14), be excluded from those who met her divine Son after he had risen from the dead? Indeed, it is legitimate to think that the Mother was probably the first person to whom the risen Jesus appeared. Could not Mary’s absence from the group of women who went to the tomb at dawn (cf. Mk 16:1; Mt 28:1) indicate that she had already met Jesus? This inference would also be confirmed by the fact that the first witnesses of the Resurrection, by Jesus’ will, were the women who had remained faithful at the foot of the Cross and therefore were more steadfast in faith. Perhaps this fact too allows us to think that Jesus showed himself first to his Mother, who had been the most faithful and had kept her faith intact when put to the test. Lastly, the unique and special character of the Blessed Virgin’s presence at Calvary and her perfect union with the Son in his suffering on the Cross seem to postulate a very particular sharing on her part in the mystery of the Resurrection. It seems reasonable to think that Mary, as the image and model of the Church which waits for the Risen One and meets him in the group of disciples during his Easter appearances, had had a personal contact with her risen Son, so that she too could delight in the fullness of Paschal joy. Present at Calvary on Good Friday (cf. Jn 19:25) and in the Upper Room on Pentecost (cf. Acts 1:14), the Blessed Virgin too was probably a privileged witness of Christ’s Resurrection, completing in this way her participation in all the essential moments of the paschal mystery. Welcoming the risen Jesus, Mary is also a sign and an anticipation of humanity, which hopes to achieve its fulfillment through the resurrection of the dead. In the Easter season, the Christian community addresses the Mother of the Lord and invites her to rejoice: “Regina Caeli, laetare. Alleluia!”. “Queen of heaven, rejoice. Alleluia!”. Thus it recalls Mary's joy at Jesus' Resurrection, prolonging in time the “rejoice” that the Angel addressed to her at the Annunciation, so that she might become a cause of “great joy” for all people.
